My name is Dannelle LeBlanc, founder of GoldenWell, a holistic wellness company established to serve and nurture natural wellness.
I am a certified Holistic Nutritionist with 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry. My background includes nutritional education for cancer patients, creating and presenting interactive clinical materials for exhibit at professional conferences such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology, researching symptom-specific data for product marketing, sole responsibility for company clinical trial contributions, and corporate training for specialty pharmacy.
In spite of my professional experiences, the most impactful training that I received began a decade ago when I began losing my health. I had what I like to call a “Smorgasbord of Symptoms” including unexplained weight gain and swelling, a malfunctioning digestive system, shooting pains and numbness in my right arm and back, hair loss, and itchy, painful skin flare-ups that scarred my face, neck, arms, torso, and legs.
I relied on a series of medical doctors to tell me what was wrong, to cure me. I was prescribed a series of prescription drugs that only temporarily masked some of my symptoms. I eventually reached a point when I understood that in order to get better, I had to do something differently or lower my expectations to a minimal quality of life.
There is no replacing the value and need for medical attention, especially for acute illness, but in my case, and in the case of many with chronic health conditions, the possibility of healing cannot be found in a pill, but in making changes in lifestyle choices.
So I began using the skills I learned in my professional roles to research natural medicine, with a focus on finding the source of the illness rather than just using medications to mask the symptoms. It was a very frightening process because I knew that if I couldn’t figure it out, I might die. As much as I value my skills and talents, there is no way I could have healed without asking for and receiving spiritual guidance. But then I had to do the work of changing my habits and my mindset.
Over a period of 7 years, I learned how to heal myself by using natural medicine and practices, changing the foods I ate, and learning how to cook differently to occasionally enjoy some of my unhealthier favorites. I replaced the toxic personal products that I had used most of my life, found the right kind of exercises that I found enjoyable (and could sustain long-term), and sought out holistic practitioners to help me to identify and correct my body’s imbalances. I’m healthier today than I was 10 years ago, and my journey has spilled over into a passion for educating and helping others to improve their health.
As I continued to heal, family members and friends began calling when they needed a natural health solution. I found myself talking to strangers in grocery store parking lots, the technical support guy on the phone, basically anybody who wanted to know more about my experience with holistic healing. So becoming certified as a holistic nutritionist is a natural extension of who I am, and I hope that GoldenWell, named in honor of my mother Geneveve Golden Banks, becomes a place of wellness for anyone seeking it.
As Mom used to say, “Everything works together for good”.
